The medical librarian and blogger David Rothman keeps a nice list (category of entries) of third party tools to search in PubMed/MEDLINE. The latest of his discoveries is called PubGet and we must say… this way of searching and getting your full-text articles is kinda special. With one single search action you can grab about 10 pdf-files of the full-text and they are opened immediately (at least when the institution has a licence for the specific journals). It certainly can save a lot of your valuable time.
Take a look at the next video for a demonstration:
Or try the following search: nik gene cluster.
At this moment you will be able to access the free articles only.
Would you like to try other pubmed search interfaces or third party tools? Just take a look at the handy overview on Margaret Henderson’s webpage (VCU Libraries). There is also a poster (Pdf) available with some descriptions in a Word-document.
