Due to a network upgrade there will be no wireless internet (Wi-Fi) in the  library on Tuesday 10 December. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks to the students and personnel of the Group Biomedical Sciences, the books sale titled ‘Know how per kilo” was a big success!
On Wednesday 18th of November, the proceeds of the books sale were donated to Prof. Dr. Chris Van Geet, head of the department Pediatrics, by Prof. Dr. Jozef Arnout, group manager of the Campus Biomedical Sciences.

The most part of the money will be used to buy new children’s toys. This way their stay in the hospital will become a bit more pleasant.

The Biomedical Library is selling second-hand books:

On Monday 24 August and Tuesday 25 August the third floor of the library – where a part of the books is stored- will be closed because of cleaning activities. If you need a book which is situated on the third floor you will have to ask the staff at the information desk (4th floor) to get the book.

Meanwhile there has been a removal operation of 20,000 books from open stacks to closed stacks (2nd floor). We will report later in detail about this.

From Thursday 14 May until Wednesday 20 May the library – who is the keeper of all found objects in the buildings of Onderwijs & Navorsing 1 and 2 (and surroundings) – will show all lost objects on tables near the information desk. If you have you lost something in the past 12 months just come and take a look at our collection of scarfs, gloves, umbrellas, cases, notebook adapters, juwels, keys, cellphones etc…

Till the end of June rightful owners may claim a lost object (after Wednesday 20 May these objects will be stored again in the cabinet just outside the library). In july all objects will leave the library (objects of value will be brought to the police of Leuven).

The library has  different opening hours during the Easter holidays. We are open each day from 9.00am until 6.00pm (no evening services). The library will be closed on Easter Monday, 13 April.

On the blog of David Rothman I found  a nice link to the Visible Human Server where you can discover the human body slice by slice (axial, sagital, coronal). It’s a nice tool to study anatomy
